Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim meeting Speaker of the Federal National Council of the UAE H E Saqr Ghobash in Doha yesterday.
Doha: Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met yesterday with Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates H E Saqr Ghobash, and his accompanying delegation, who is currently visiting the country to attend the final match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
At the beginning of the meeting, Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council and members of the delegation, noting the brotherly relations existing between the two countries.
Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council congratulated the State of Qatar on the success of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, praising the impressive and distinguished organisation of the tournament, which is being held for the first time in the Arab region.
He also congratulated Qatar, H H the Amir, the government and the Qatari people, on the occasion of the National Day, expressing his admiration for the renaissance and progress Qatar is witnessing in various fields, wishing Qatar further progress, growth and prosperity.
During the meeting, they reviewed the fraternal relations between the two countries, the existing aspects of cooperation in the parliamentary field, and ways to enhance them.
The two sides stressed the need to enhance coordination of positions between them in regional and international parliamentary forums in order to achieve the interests and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, and support the interests of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
The meeting was attended by a number of Their Excellencies members and officials of the Shura Council, and the delegation accompanying the FNC Speaker.
