Doha: President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau H E Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa said that the celebration of Qatar National Day (QND) this year differs from the past years as it coincides with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
In remarks to QNA, Al Khalifa said that Qatar’s hosting of the World Cup was a major landmark in the history of the whole region and a source of pride of the Arab and Islamic identity.
Organizing the tournament in an Arab Islamic country, for the first time, was a unique opportunity to tell the world about the Qatar’s Arab Islamic identity and genuine heritage.
The slogan of QND celebration this year (Our Unity is the Source of Our Strength) underlines the value of national coherence, he said praising the tireless efforts of young Qatari talents as well as all the government employees in promoting the country’s development and progress in various sectors.
He asserted the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau’s determination to implementing strategies and plans that would boost the productivity of government workforce and improve the efficiency of the government services.
Al Khalifa further praised the quality of the government services as well as the plans and strategies pursued by government institutions.
He explained the tasks of the Bureau which include, among others drafting and updating civilian human resources policies in public sector, proposing and implementing scholarship policies, jobs localization, provision of training to Qatari government employees, studying the organizational structures of government institutions, applying standards of institutional performance quality in government institutions, providing technical assistance in developing government human resources plans, and developing and implementing policies for the optimal use of government buildings.
On the accomplishments in the fields of recruitment and civil services, Al Khalifa said that new services and enhancements have been introduced to the National E-Recruitment Portal (Kawader), in cooperation with the ministries of Labour and Information and Communications Technology. (Tahmeen) training program has been launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, he added.
A campaign of fast recruitment was launched in cooperation with government organizations, where interviews were held in 48 institutions to facilitate onboarding process and hiring 2501 job seekers registered with Kawader in government jobs, Al Khalifa said.
He noted that the professional day for the employment of people with special needs was organised, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, and with the participation of 17 government agencies. Al Khalifa pointed out that three workshops were held under the title Performance Evaluation Management System with the aim of introducing the directors of human resources departments and planning and quality departments in government agencies to the new performance management standards, and the means to link the individual goals of employees with the strategic goals of the institution.
He also pointed out that the Amiri decision related to restructuring 15 government bodies have introduced technical office to support the decision-making speed of Their Excellencies the ministers and added new activities and tasks related to innovation, follow-up of international indicators and corporate risk management.
In the same context, Al Khalifa noted the launch of the “mystery shopper” initiative, which aims to involve members of society in developing government services and improving their quality, by upholding the importance of customer experience.
