QDA’s MENA Diabetes Medical Congress begins tomorrow

Doha: Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education and Science, will organise its annual conference this year under the theme “MENA Diabetes Medical Congress” via online on May 20 and 21.

More than 30 faculty members and experts from major hospitals in the region, such as Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, and Pakistan, will participate in the conference as speakers. The conference discusses advanced technologies for treatment of diabetes and reviews innovative approaches to managing the complications of diabetes, as well as discussing cutting-edge advancements in drugs research and surgical innovations.

The conference will include a healthcare professional responsible for managing people with diabetes, including the heads of diabetes, diabetologists, endocrinologists, cardiologist, diabetes educators, paediatric endocrinologists, podiatrist, neurologist, nephrologist, ophthalmologist, gynaecologists, nutritionists, general practitioners, clinical researchers, and other specialists.

The Chair of the Conference, Dr. Abdulla Al Hamaq, QDA Executive Director, said: “High-level decision makers will be present in one place at a time and will evaluate new technologies and innovations in diabetes management and prevention with a focus on caring for people with diabetes. We have been keen to connect policymakers and key stakeholders to create new policies and strategies for preventing and controlling diabetes.”

“Health care providers will also have access to obtaining continued medical education accreditation by attending this congress,” Dr. Al Hamaq added.
