Doha: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari has launched a website for a Ramadan programme, under which the Ministry hosts famous Islamic scholars from all over the world to discuss the issues of Islam and Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
The launch took place during the conclusion ceremony of the programme tilled ‘Aminhum Min Khaof’ (Secure Them from Fear) of fifth season.
The web portal is available in Arabic.
The seventh session of the programme was organised by the Ministry this year under the title ‘Islamic Digital Content and the Need for Review’.
The Ministry said that the programme is served as platform for Islamic scholars and think-tanks to express their views on Islamic issues during the holy month of Ramadan.
The launch of this platform comes as part of the Ministry’s keenness to expand the use of the content of the programme and its efforts to present moderate and audible voices about Islam and to help correct the misconceptions about Islam and Muslims at this time.
The portal includes materials related to the sessions of the programme, as well as the articles and researches and studies conducted by a group of Islamic scholars in the fields of Islamic ideology, studies of the Holy Quran and published by the Ministry.
The platform also includes the introduction of “The World and the Cause”, containing the speeches of the gust scholars of Ramadan programme addressing to Muslim youth and to the Muslim Ummah in general.
The technical and academic staffs are assigned to enrich the portal and translate the contents into different languages to make them available for big number of viewers. The portal has invited all the acclaimed writers to resolve the religious discourse according to the principles of the Shari’ah and its origins, and adhere to the ideology of the scholars who carry the reform and work day and night for the reunification and revival of the nation. The bloggers and influences were also asked to share the portal and its contents on their social networking sites and pages to promote it.
