Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) hosted the famous Qatari patriotic poet, Hamad Al Jamila, to celebrate Qatar National Day in a patriotic environment yesterday at its headquarters in Dafna.
The event was attended by President of Kahramaa, Eng Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, directors of the departments, heads of the sections and guests.
The Kahramaa building has been decorated with the slogans of this year’s National Day, and the state flags, reflecting the joy, and pride of belonging to this country.
Addressing the event, Kahramaa President congratulated Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the occasion and expressed his pride in the great achievements made in all fields.
President of Kahramaa highlighted the number of achievements made by the Corporation during 2019, as Kahramaa completed the implementation of five power sub-stations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup stadiums at a cost of about QR800m. He said that five sub-stations were completed to feed the Doha metro project at a cost of about QR900m.
Al Kuwari said that Kahramaa projects ensure the supply of electric power and water for the various important sporting events and other events that the State of Qatar has witnessed and it maintains the reliability of the electricity and water networks.
He reiterated Kahramaa’s commitment to work for more achievements to keep pace with the fast development of Qatar.
Kahramaa’s celebration programme this year included many distinguished shows and traditional events that commemorate the Founder, and reflects the slogan of the National Day for this year as the ceremony started with the national anthem and the military parade by children.
Several activities, including art works, popular games and exclusive poems in addition to the national songs derived from the Qatari heritage were held during the programme.
The celebration included various paragraphs presented by a selection of the nation’s creators, including the poet Hamad Al Jameela, the vocalist Hamad bin Falah, and in the presence of the journalist Khaled Jassim and a number of activists of social networking sites.
Kahramaa celebration of this occasion aims to express the love for the country, pride in loyalty to it, and shows commitment to make more progress and put every effort to maintain development process of the country.
