Students will sit the exams in-person at schools as per the exam schedule released by Students’ Evaluation Department of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The schools also educated students about the safety measures during their presence in classrooms and through online distance learning platform following the instructions of the Ministry.

A number of text messages were also sent to parents asking them to make their children comply with the instructions during examinations. “We would like to inform you that examinations of semester 1 mid-term will begin on October 18. It is mandatory for all students — blended learning or distance learning to appear in the examination in-person adhering to the school timing from 7am to 12:30pm,” said a school in a text message sent to parents.

The school said that the students are required to attend the schools as per the examination schedules. “Following the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the students infected with coronavirus and those came in contact with infected people of COVID-19 should comply to quarantine rules,” said the school.

The school said that such students should be in home quarantine not to leave home until the end of quarantine. “Based on the sick leave document, the absence of the students from the examinations will be calculated accepting the excuse of absence,” the school added.

The school said that the students who could not appear in the examinations on medical grounds, will be allowed to take the examinations with 100 scores which will be held in the end of first semester.

The students have been asked to bring their all necessary stationary items which should not be exchanged with other students to avoid the contact. The school also asked the students to bring their food because school canteen will be closed. The students should wear face-masks and use sanitisers which will be available at the premises of the school.

The Ministry of Education and Higher had said on its Twitter Account earlier that all public and private schools must adhere to all COVID-19 precautionary measures and relevant instructions issued by the Ministry during examinations.

To ensure social distancing during examination, the number of students must not be more than 15 per classroom and 60 students per multipurpose hall. The Ministry announced a set of precautionary measures to be followed for ensuring the safety of students during the exams.
