Katara Cultural Diversity Festival
Qatari and Indian Folkloric shows will open the third edition of Katara Cultural Diversity Festival tonight at the Katara Amphitheatre.
The festival features an array of cultural performances from different nations around the world and aims to act as bridge between cultures and provide a multicultural harmonious environment.
In addition to international folkloric groups, ten local bands from different communities in Qatar will be performing during the festival.
The countries taking part in this festival are India, Oman, China, Ghana, Macedonia, Mexico, Turkey, Spain, Czech Republic, Iran, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Bulgaria, Morocco, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Bosnia and Russia.
The festival is free for everyone.

First European Film Festival
The first-ever European Film Festival Doha will offer cinephiles some of the best of contemporary European cinema with a showcase of 10 diverse films which have graced the silver screen in the past decade.
In its inaugural edition, the festival will feature free public screenings of films from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden.
Other featured films are Cherry Blossoms (Germany/2008), L’Opera (France/2016), Atras das Nuvens (Portugal/2007), La Isla Minima (Spain/2014), Two Lottery Tickets (Romania/2016), The Infinite Garden (Bulgaria/2017) and Flying Home (Belgium/2014).
There will be 2 screenings per day (5 pm and 8 pm) with the exception of the Opening on 18/10 with the Austrian film and on 21/10 with the Romanian film (8 pm).
The films are in original language with English subtitles and are rated 15+.
No reserved seating and no food or drinks allowed.

'Experiments with Truth' exhibition
On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of the great Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi, the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) opened an art exhibition titled “Experiments of Truth” in building 16 at Katara in cooperation with the Embassy of India in Doha.
All the paintings in the exhibition are based on the life of Gandhi, his vision, mission, values and simplicity.

"Twenty Poems" Exhibition
Katara presents the "Twenty Poems" Exhibition by the artist Hamda Al Mannai.

Dates Exhibition
A variety of dates from over 900 farms in Qatar are available in the first local dates exhibition at Souq Waqif. The festival is a must visit for every resident in Qatar who loves this tropical fruit. Already over 20 tonnes of dates have been sold on the first two days so head out to this venue before the festival gets over.

Family Fun Week
Mirqab Mall are hosting a series of family events for all to enjoy, which include a meet and greet with Iron Man on Fridays and magic show on Saturdays. The activities include face painting, create custom t-shirts and bags and many more.
