Samanvayam, a socio-cultural organisation of Indian expatriates in Qatar, solicits entries for ‘The Saahithi Puraskaram’ 2013. ‘The Saahithi Puraskaram’ was instituted last year by Samanvayam to create an impetus for Malayalam literature among the Malayali diasporia in the Gulf countries and to honour the best writers.
Last year ‘The Saahithi Puraskaram’ was given for the best short story.
For 2013 ‘Saahithi Puraskaram’, will be awarded for the best poetry written by the Indian expatriates in the Middle East and children studying in Indian schools in Qatar.
“Entries for ‘Saahithi Puraskaram’ may be sent to [email protected] before the November 30. Entries should carry the subject as “Entry for Samanyam ‘Saahithi Puraskaram 2013’. All entries should be accompanied by a declaration stating that it is the original work of the participant. No entries received after the date mentioned above will be entertained,” a statement from the organisation stated.
An eminent judging panel of noted poets will choose the best poetry for ‘Samanvayam Saahithi Puraskaram 2013.’ The award winners will be honoured at ‘Saahithi 2013’ event, which will held during January 2013.
Noted Malayalam poet, Prof V Madhusoodhanan Nair will the chief guest of event.
“Samanvayam will have the right to reprint the award winning work. The competition for students will be held on November 30 and students have to register in advance through the schools that they study in,” said the statement.
