DTZ announced that it has been appointed as Sole Letting Agent for the World Trade Center Qatar.

The deal was signed by Sheikh Nasser bin Ali bin Saud Al Thani as Chairman of Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company, the developer of the project, and Mr Nick Witty, Chief Operating Officer DTZ Middle East.

Situated in Doha’s West Bay Business District, directly overlooking the Corniche, the World Trade Center Qatar is a 50-floor Grade A commercial tower offering circa 100,000sqm of built up space. Designed to the highest international standards, two iconic features will define the tower; the sphere on the bottom symbolising the world, as well as the saucer surrounding the top floors. The tower will offer excellent facilities and amenities including an exclusive executive club located on the top floors and a number of dining outlets, a gym and spa, a 1,770sqm convention centre and an auditorium that accommodates more than 500 seats.

In addition to providing breathtaking views of West Bay’s skyline and the Corniche, the tower also offers flexible floor plates that can accommodate a business of almost any size. Other features include 24 hour security access, high-speed lifts and ample car parking.  The tower is due to be completed by quarter 1 of 2013.

Sheikh Nasser bin Ali Al Thani, also Chairman of the World Trade Center Qatar stated; “DTZ was appointed as Sole Agent for the scheme based on their extensive experience of transactions on commercial office space,  their in-depth knowledge of the local market, as well as their valuable network of corporate clients in the regional and international markets.

Nick Witty, Chief Operating Officer DTZ Middle East said, “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this project. World Trade Center Qatar will be, without a doubt, one of the most prominent and sought after commercial buildings in Doha. DTZ is already in talks with a number of parties, in relation to pre-let opportunities, which would secure a sizeable amount of the available office space before we commence our marketing campaign.”

This is DTZ’s second appointment on a World Trade Center in the Middle East, having been initially assigned as exclusive letting agents and property and facilities management advisers for the Bahrain World Trade Center.
