Doha: The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani chaired the regular meeting held by the Cabinet this afternoon at its headquarters in the Amiri Diwan.
In the meeting, Cabinet decided to lift more Covid-19 restrictions like the requirement of masks in closed public places from May 21, 2022.
The Cabinet listened to the explanation given by H E Dr Hanan bint Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, on the latest developments to limit the spread of the Covid 19 and after reviewing the report of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management regarding the gradual lifting of restrictions imposed as a result of the pandemic and decided the following:
First:
1- The entry restrictions to all closed public places have been lifted. Continue to check the EHTERAZ green status for entry.
2 – Continue to adhere to the requirements set by the Ministry of Public Health for holding any conferences, exhibitions or events.
3- Continue to allow all employees to work from their workplace in the government and private sector.
4. Not obligating employees in the government and private sectors to conduct Rapid Antigen test approved by the Ministry of Public Health.
5. Lifting mask requirement for citizens, residents and visitors in closed public places unless inside health facilities or using public transportation.
6. Employees and workers in the government and private sectors, whose nature of work requires interacting with the public in open places are not required to wear masks during their working hours, but employees working in closed places are required to wear one.
7. All citizens, residents and visitors must continue to activate the EHTERAZ application on smart phones when leaving the house for any reason.
Second: Compliance with health requirements, procedures, precautionary measures, and controls determined by the Ministry of Public Health shall be taken into consideration.
Third: Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and other government agencies shall take the necessary measures in this regard, to ensure compliance with health requirements, procedures, precautionary measures and established controls.
Fourth: These decisions will come into force from Saturday, May 21, 2022, until further notice.
