Moscow: Qatar and Russia have robust relations and cooperation, especially in the economic sphere, said First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation H E Denis Manturov.
Interviewed by QNA, Manturov said the Doha-Moscow economic cooperation could be further expanded through many joint investment opportunities.
The two sides, he said, laid a solid foundation for fostering cooperation in promising areas such as trade, investment, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, infrastructure, digital technologies, culture, sports, and tourism.
He highlighted the 5th meeting of the Russian-Qatari Joint Committee for Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation which convened during his recent visit to Doha in March 2025, saying that the relevant bodies in both countries have already begun implementing the agreements reached, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry. Manturov revealed that a joint business forum would be held during Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to Moscow for a more detailed discussion of the joint plans and the establishment of direct contacts between the economic circles of the two countries.
He explained that the forum’s programme covers the most pressing topics, such as investment and financial cooperation, transportation and logistics, pharmaceutical industries, healthcare, urban development, and tourism.
Manturov hoped that the upcoming discussions between the leaders of the two countries will confirm the main priorities of cooperation and agree on practical steps to implement the proposed plans for the benefit of both countries and their friendly peoples.
