Kuwait reports 12 new coronavirus cases

Kuwait: Twelve new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were discovered in Kuwait within the last 24 hours, bringing the total of infections to 142, the Kuwaiti Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

In a press conference, Kuwaiti Health Ministry Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad revealed that out of the 142 in total, 15 cases recovered and 127 are still receiving treatment, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Eight of the new cases are linked to travel with the United Kingdom, and include two Kuwaiti nationals, an American, and a Spanish national, the Spokesman was reported by KUNA as saying.

One new case was of a citizen who had traveled to Switzerland, while two other cases had direct contact with people who came to the country from the UK. He indicated that there four cases still in the intensive care unit (ICU) with one stable and three in critical condition. Some 573 individuals had finished the quarantine period, he affirmed.
