Doha: The General Directorate of Traffic in accordance with the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced a new auction of distinctive vehicle registration numbers through the Sooum mobile application, set to begin on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 8am.
The auction will follow a "Show Interest" format, where interested parties must first select their preferred number and pay a deposit.
Participants then have a 48-hour window to express their interest.
If only one person shows interest in a particular number, it will be sold at the quoted price.
However, if multiple parties express interest, an internal bidding process will commence between those interested.
The subsequent closed auction phase will run for 24 hours among those who have paid the security deposit, with automatic 15-minute extensions triggered by new bids.
The mobile application interface displays current prices in Qatari Riyals (QAR) and the number of interested parties for each registration number.
