PHCC has recently strengthened its telemedicine services to ensure minimal impact on patient access to healthcare and continuity of care.
Here are a few tips to access the first virtual consultation with minimum effort and ensure patients receive the most thorough assessment and diagnosis.
Check the virtual consultation details:
Ensure that you have read your invitation SMS, this will include information on how to access the consultation, its date, and what time to log in to meet your physician.
Test your technology:
Test the technology you need for the consultation; this may be your phone or laptop. Make sure the battery is sufficiently/fully charged and the camera is stable for a video consultation. It is also vital that you use a strong internet connection to ensure a good quality consultation with no interruptions.
Find a quiet space:
Setting up the consultation in a private, quiet space is recommended, however, if this is not possible, ensure that you have as limited background noise as possible.
Prepare information:
You may want to write down your symptoms or questions you would like to ask your physician. It would also be useful to prepare a list of any medication you are currently taking.
PHCC continues to provide & promote virtual consultations in addition to face-to-face consultations during the world cup period, ensuring minimum disruption to services leading to the world cup whilst providing a convenient, safe virtual space for patients where they can access the same level of quality of care as they do face-to-face.
Patients can book both virtual or face-to-face appointments by calling 107 or the PHCC community call center on 16000.
