Ministry of Labour (MoL) has called on employers to follow weather and wind conditions and adopt required procedures to ensure the safety of workers as part of its efforts to protect workers at construction sites.

“All employers are required to follow safety procedures at work sites. Use devices to measure wind speed and stop crane operation when wind speed exceeds the permissible limit,” the Ministry tweeted. MoL inspectors will make visits to the work sites to ensure that safety procedures are in place.

The department of Meteorology said that the dust mass is expected to gradually vanish this evening and the fresh Northwesterly wind will continue until this weekend.
Winds will be northwesterly at a speed ranging between 13 and 23 knots, with gusts of up to 31 knots in some areas at times.
