PHCC registers over 1,170,000 patients in 2022

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has made significant progress in 2022 to advance the health and well-being of people in Qatar.

PHCC has introduced new services and facilities intending to transform the healthcare system in Qatar by providing high-quality, patient-centered primary healthcare services. 

By the end of 2022, PHCC has registered 1,170,112 patients across the health centres; the total number of PHCC staff reached 7,949 and among them, the medical staff constituted 65% (5,130), while the administrative staff constituted 35 % (2,819).

PHCC has announced 2022 achievements in a series of tweets on its official handle. 

In 2022 PHCC has successfully expanded its network of healthcare centers, increased access to healthcare services, and improved the quality of care provided to patients. Additionally, PHCC has implemented innovative programmes and initiatives aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing chronic diseases, and improving the overall health of the population.

Following the opening of Al Khor, Al Mashaf, and Umm Al Seneem health centers, the number of PHCC health centers has reached 30 by end of 2022. 

The Medication Home Delivery Service at PHCC completed 8069 deliveries in 2022 and 97% of which were medicines for patients with chronic diseases.

Almost 80,000 patients have benefited from this service from its launch in March 2020 until March 2022. PHCC completed the implementation of the electronic health file program and the inclusion of all public schools in the country.

PHCC introduced 7 wellness centers in 2022 in Al Khor, Al Ruwais, Rawdat Al Khail, Umm Salal, Muaither, Al Waibah, and Leabaib providing integrated and health promotion-oriented wellness services. Wellness services offer a wide range of interventions to empower people to make positive lifestyle choices and behavior changes to achieve balance in physical, mental, and emotional health and to support them live longer healthier, and more productive lives. 

As part of its commitment to Qatar National Mental Health Strategy, in 2022 PHCC introduced a new Older Adult Integrated Psychiatry Clinic in Umm Slal Health Center.
