MME pavilion at Darb Al Saai receive 430 students from 19 schools

DOHA: The pavilion of the Ministry of Municipal and Environment at Darb Al Saai received 430 students from 19 schools and they had introductory tours of the wings of the various sectors of the Ministry.

The Ministry is keen on its activities this year to allocate several activities for children that combine educational, awareness, guidance and entertainment, through games on electronic screens in each pavilion which have been chosen carefully according to the activity of each sector.

The visitors while touring the Urban Planning Affairs Sector, got acquainted with the map of Qatar and the stages of the urban development of Qatari cities from 1947 until 2013.

The visitors also learn through a library that includes books and maps on the Qatari buildings and their development and the future visions of the municipalities according to the comprehensive urban plan for the State of Qatar.

There is also an educational game that is a screen with the regions of the country and the most prominent features where the visitor tries to identify the area of his residence.

The pavilion also has an electronic game for children that is presented through four screens to interact with a number of questions such as (where do you live, where to play) and other questions about their places of residence and the most important features of Qatar.

The Department of Information Systems offers six electronic games via screens to introduce the Ministry's website and its application to smartphones (Aoun) and the most important prizes won by the website and application.

The Ministry of Municipal and Environment is considered one of the first service government agencies that started providing services to the public via smartphones and mobile phones several years ago.

Under the slogan ‘Keep it Clean’, the General Services Affairs Sector represented by the General Cleanliness Department participating in a distinctive wing that displays the goals of the campaign that introduces the public to the Public Hygiene Law.

The law keeps pace with the overall urban development of the state, social life and different cultures in society and has a major role in promoting services and maintaining hygiene and the country environment by reducing wrong behaviors and practices.

The program (Sorting of Waste from the Source 2019-22) is also being showcased which aimed at reducing the amount of waste and benefit economically from its recycling, preserve the integrity of the environment and natural resources.

The Protected Office presents its most prominent projects, including the Habari Bird Propagation Project, where the Ministry of Municipal and Environment is concerned with its production and reproduction in a number of its reserves and natural plantations in Qatar and a number of countries in the world.

Amna Sultan Al Maliki a biological expert introduces visitors to the most important types of birds at section of the Department of Protection and Wildlife. Children can also enjoy playing turtles on the screen, in which the child protects them by removing plastic bags and other pollutants from the marine environment that harm them.
