Doha: The Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment will open three new parks at Al Shamal, Duhail and Al Thumama on the occasion of National Day which falls tomorrow.

The three new public parks are for families and equipped with all the required facilities, including entertainment, sports facilities and play areas for children. Wi-Fi is not yet available for these parks.

Mohammed Al Khoori, Director, Public Parks Department at the Ministry, said that the opening of Duhail and Al Thumama parks will be on Monday, while Al Shamal park will open for public on Tuesday.

Earlier, an official at the Ministry told The Peninsula that eight family public parks will be opened in Doha and other parts of the country next year and more parks have been equipped with free Wi-Fi.

He added that free Wi-Fi will soon be available at parks at Al Luqta, New Onaiza, Ain Khaled, Al Jubailat, Al Ruwais Resort in Al Shamal, Al Duhail and Al Shamal.

The Wi-Fi connection is already available in many public parks such as Dahl Al Hammam park, Al Dafna park, Al Wakra public park, Al Khor Corniche, Simaisma park, Al Shahaniya park, and Ali bin Jassim park, he added.
