PHCC strategic sponsor of medical, healthccare expo

Doha: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) is a strategic sponsor of Qatar International Exhibition for Medical Devices and Healthccare, ‘QMED’, the biggest medical event of its kind in the country slated from December 2 to 4.
At the event, the PHCC will announce new projects and initiatives in completion of its ambitious vision towards the establishment of an integrated centre for healthcare services.
Maryam Al Hamadi, Executive Director, Corporate Communications, PHCC, said: “QMED represents the most prominent medical event in Qatar and comprises leading local and international medical companies.
“The exhibition provides opportunities for medical institutions and companies to showcase products and services in Qatar whose market for medical products is one of the fastest growing.”
Al Hamadi said the PHCC will announce its key developments and achievements in the health sector as the exhibition is the most vital platform to announce such achievements.
She said the PHCC is participating with a 48sqm pavilion in Doha Centre for Exhibitions and Conferences to offer services and facilities provided by the corporation and its partners.
She said the PHCC is working tirelessly through 21 health centres in the central, western and northern regions. Thirteen are in Doha and the rest in other populated areas to provide services depending on the needs of each region.
Al Hamadi said the PHCC is about to implement ambitious, realistic and comprehensive plans to develop the health centers to keep up with the growing population.
Nineteen new health centres will be opened by 2019 (six this year) and 13 between 2016 and 2018, including the renovated Al Karanah and Al Ghuwairiya centres.
She said services in the new centres will include advisory,  specialised, dental, mother and child health and communicable diseases clinics, clinic, treatment and control rooms, emergency primary care, diagnostic radiology services (X-ray, panorama, ultrasound), health education, pre-marital check-ups, labs and collection of blood samples.
Khaleifa Haroon, Exhibition Manager, thanked the PHCC, companies and other entities for support and highlighted the importance of the participation of the public and private sectors in the exhibition which sheds light on the importance Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani gives to the healthcare sector.
He said the exhibition will witnesses participation of over 100 local and international companies involved in the development and provision of medical equipment,  hospital supplies and laboratories. 
He said the exhibition is an opportunity to meet officials from the health sectors in the region, and for companies to showcase achievements in the development of medical services, and contribute to raising health awareness about the role of these achievements in the improvement of the lives of citizens and residents.
He said the event is also an opportunity to shed light on medical companies and their role in medical investment in Qatar, such as Supreme Council of Health, PHCC, Hamad Medical Corporation, Aspetar Hospital and other local companies.
