Doha: Marcus Dudley (pictured) has been appointed new General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Doha.
He joins the hotel following a two-year tenure as executive assistant manager for operations at Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai. He was part of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Talent Development Centre, a programme to prepare executive assistant managers for future general managers’ roles.
He joined as Director, Food & Beverage, Mövenpick Jumeirah Beach Hotel in 2011 and led the team to awards, including ‘Best Sports Bar in Dubai’ and ‘Top Five Brunches in Dubai’ and won ‘Food & Beverage Manager of the Year Middle East’ at Hotelier Awards in 2012. He has worked in Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
He also worked for Mandarin Oriental, Hyatt and Orient Express Hotel Groups, gaining most of experience gained within the Ritz-Carlton. The Australian national became the youngest executive chef at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. His focus will be on bringing a fresh take on culinary excellence and developing dining outlets at the hotel. He has Chef’s Diploma from the UK, completed postgraduation at Cornell University and has an MBA in international business.
