Doha: A number of ambassadors of foreign countries accredited to the State of Qatar expressed their delight after their countries' teams have qualified for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, looking forward to an exceptional and amazing tournament.
The ambassadors praised at the same time the State of Qatar's preparations to host the World Cup.
This came on the sidelines of their participation in the festival to raise the flags of the countries qualified for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which was organized by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) on Sunday in Doha Corniche.
During the festival, the flags of Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Brazil and France were raised, in addition to the flag of the State of Qatar, the host.
HE Ambassador of the French Republic to the State of Qatar Jean-Baptiste Faivre expressed pride of the French team and his happiness for his country's victory over Kazakhstan 8-0 in the qualifiers for the World Cup in Qatar.
He said that his country's team has distinguished players, especially Kylian Mbappe, who showed a good and exceptional performance in the match against Kazakhstan.
He also expressed happiness for the French team's participation in the World Cup Qatar, and their presence soon in Doha.
HE the French Ambassador hailed Qatar's preparations to host the tournament and said that the State of Qatar has done a tremendous and impressive job in organizing this great event, and it has dealt very seriously with all the organizational aspects of the tournament in terms of public transportation, stadiums design and environment protection as well as in receiving fans.
The Ambassador went to say that his country has historical cooperation with the State of Qatar in organizing major sport events since 2006 during the organization of the Asian Games, and that France will continue its cooperation during the World Cup, stressing that the tournament will achieve success on all levels.
For his part, HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the State of Qatar William Asselborn said that his country is looking forward to this tournament, especially since this is the fifth time in a row that Belgium has qualified for world championships, namely the World Cup and UEFA European Championship.
HE Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the State Luiz Alberto spoke on behalf of all the Brazilians who live in Qatar, expressing excitement to be here to stand behind their national team in the tournament.
He added that they know that Qatar is waiting for them with open arms, and they are excited and have high expectations to come here as fans to stand behind their national team, as well as to learn more about the State of Qatar and the nature of this region of the world that is hosting the World Cup for the first time.
In turn, For his part, HE Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Qatar Dr. Claudius Fischbach said that he thinks Germany is very delight to qualify for the World Cup, and in fact, they qualified as the first country in general for this tournament, which includes 32 countries that will compete among themselves for the cup.
He added "To be honest, this was not a surprise, because Germany with the exception of almost two championships has always been a contender for the tournament cup, and the question now is how we will perform during the tournament, but I think we are optimistic that we will do well."
FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will take place from Nov. 21 to Dec. 18 next year.
