Qatar and Jordan keen to strengthen fraternal relations in all fields

Jordanian officials affirmed the depth of relations between the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as high-level consultations between the two countries on regional issues. In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), the officials explained that the official visit of HM King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Qatar, and his meeting with H H the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, comes as a culmination of the meetings of Jordanian and Qatari officials, describing it as a significant milestone in the path of Qatari-Jordanian relations.

They highlighted the Qatari-Jordanian compatibility on many Arab issues of mutual interest, in addition to the issues that threaten Arab national security.

In this context, President of the Senate of Jordan Faisal Al Fayez affirmed the depth of the Jordanian-Qatari fraternal relations, noting the keenness of Jordan, under the leadership of HM King Abdullah II, to preserve and strengthen those relations in all fields. He also noted that the Jordanian-Qatari relations are strong and based on mutual respect, in a manner that serves the interest of both countries, and issues of joint interest.

Al Fayez emphasized the importance of strengthening the relations between the State of Qatar and the Jordanian Kingdom, building on them in various bilateral fields - especially political, economic and investment, and maintaining coordination and consultation between the two brotherly countries.

The President of the Jordanian Senate said that the current situation our nation is going through requires strengthening its cooperation and unity to face common challenges, affirming his country’s keenness on the unity of the Arab ranks and the unity of the GCC states. Jordan is constantly seeking to strengthen Arab conciliation and activate joint coordination among them in a manner that serves their interests and defend them, he added.

For his part, Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives Abdelmonem Al Odat expressed that Jordan cherishes its fraternal relations with Qatar, affirming its durable keenness to reach levels of integration and partnership to achieve the interests and aspirations of the two countries and their peoples.

Al Odat affirmed that the State of Qatar occupies an important position politically and economically, and agrees with Jordan on various central issues in the region and the resolution of conflicts with regard to foreign policy, noting that Jordan seeks to enhance joint Arab action. He also described the visit of HM King Abdullah II to Doha as a core of the Arab action, which is reflected on the stability of the region at this particular time.

HM King Abdullah II and HH the Amir are keen to advance the relations between the two countries in various field, especially the economic and investment fields, he added.

For his part, former Chief of Jordan’s Royal Hashemite Court Dr. Jawad Al Anani underlined the great significance of HM Jordanian King’s visit, as the Arab region is going through important developments, whether regarding the main Arab issue - the Palestinian cause, or the developments in various Arab countries, stressing that high coordination between the two countries is required.

Jordan and Qatar are countries that work to resolve conflicts and restore calm in various regions through a political solution, he said, adding in this regard that Doha has gained a high degree of international trust for its significant role in calming the situation in Afghanistan For his part, Jordan’s former Minister of Finance Dr. Mohammed Abu Hammour said that the future outlook for the economic relations between Jordan and Qatar comes from an optimistic perspective on the two parties’ ability to develop the current relations and find the appropriate ground for further cooperation, coordination and integration in various fields.

The two countries have a solid base of joint economic agreements, which confirms that equal relations based on cooperation and common interests are justified and strengthened, he said, adding that these relations are given the opportunity to create integration based on solid foundations to serve both countries.

He also stressed the need to intensify consultation and mutual visits, activate the agreements signed between the two countries, and create institutional relations that ensure sustainability, as well as allow the expansion of projects, increasing trade exchange, and establishing new investment projects in various economic sectors.
