UPDATE: "Kind reminder to general public using the Doha Metro to Al Wakrah. The free shuttle services to Al Wakrah Stadium are for ticket holders only. To allow fans to get to the venue as quickly as possible please do not board these buses if you do not have tickets," organisers said.
Doha Metro will extend its service tomorrow night for the Amir Cup final. Passengers will be able to access the metro even after the match.
The service will be open till next day (Friday, May 17) early morning at 3am, which will help football fans to commute back from the stadium after the match, which kicks off at 10.30pm tomorrow. The opening ceremony of the Al Wakrah stadium, which will host the final, will begin at 9.15pm. The door opens for the sold out match at 7.30pm.
“We’re delighted to extend our train service on the red line from 0800hrs tomorrow until 0300hrs on the 17th May so that customers can use the metro to watch the Emir Cup final” Doha Metro tweeted.
Match ticketholders can take a free shuttle bus from Al Wakra metro station to and from the stadium. The bus takes approximately 30 minutes and the stadium gates open at 7:30 PM, "so please leave home with plenty of time to spare. A fan zone and the beautiful new stadium will offer you plenty to explore if you arrive early," the organisers said in a statement.
The last metro from Al Wakra metro station will leave at 3 AM on Friday 17 May.
On regular weekdays the metro operates from 8am to 11pm.
