Number of real estate deals up 40% in September

Doha: The number of real estate deals reached 696, recording 40 percent increase in September, 2020 compared to August, this year, said the Ministry of Justice in its real estate bulletin published on its Twitter account yesterday. During September, the real estate trading index achieved a total value of QR3,160,934,082 for 696 real estate deals.

Doha Municipality emerged as most active in term of financial value with QR1,536,198,886 followed by Al Rayyan Municipality with trading value QR669,487,214. Al Daayen Municipality ranked third with a trading value of QR512,236,864.

The most active municipalities in the real estate trading activity according to the area index is Al Rayyan Municipality with 28 percent  share, followed by Doha Municipality with 22 percent. Al Daayen Municipality ranked third with 21 percent of the total deals’ area.

The most active municipality during September in terms of number of sold real estates is Al Daayen Municipality with 26 percent of total traded areas, followed by Doha Municipality with 22 percent. Al Rayyan Municipality ranked third with 20 percent of total sold areas.

Seven real estate deals out of the top ten deals - made in last month - were recorded in Doha Municipality followed by two deals in Al Rayyan Municipality and one deal in Al Daayen Municipality.

The volume of mortgage transactions that took place in September 2020, reached 230 transactions with a total value of QR6,615,354,354. Al Daayen Municipality recorded the highest number of mortgage transactions with 114 transactions, 49.6 percent of total number of mortgaged real estate, followed by Doha Municipality which received 56 transactions, 24.3 percent. Al Rayyan Municipality recorded 24 mortgaged transactions,10.4 percent of total mortgaged real estate.

As for the value of mortgages, Doha Municipality ranked first with value of QR3,667,171,923, while Al Shamal Municipality recorded the lowest value with QR1,350,000. 

Doha Municipality recorded five of the top ten mortgaged properties while Al Raayan Municipality recorded three of the top mortgaged properties. Al Wakra and Al Khor and Al Thakira Municipality received one of the top mortgaged properties each.

During September 2020, the real estate trading movement in The Pearl and Al Kassar Area witnessed an increase in real estate trading volume as compared to August, 2020, where the number of transactions amounted to 106 deals for residential units, with a total value amounting to QR223,410,071.
