Asian champions Qatar edged Iran 24-23 in a thrilling semi-final to book final clash against hosts Turkiye in the men's handball event at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, yesterday.
Qatar were ahead 14-11 in the first half before Iran posed a tough challenge to Al Annabi in the final session but Qatar held on for a victory.
Also yesterday, Qatar men's volleyball team defeated Pakistan 3-2 to secure their second group win at Konya 2021. Meanwhile, Qatar men's 3x3 basketball team also won, overcoming Palestine 21-12.
