Doha: Qatar University’s (QU) week-long series of graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2023 concluded yesterday with 3,147 female students graduating from nine colleges.
The nine colleges included the College of Education, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Sharia and Islamic Studies, Engineering, Law, Arts and Sciences, and Business and Economics.

The 46th batch of female students were honoured at the QU Sports and Events Complex in six separate ceremonies. The students graduated from the following academic degrees, including bachelor’s, diploma, master’s, doctorate, and doctor of pharmacy.
The ceremonies included graduates of the Summer 2022, Fall 2022 and Winter 2023, and those expected to graduate Spring 2023.
During the graduation ceremony for the College of Education, H E Dr. Hessa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Dean of the College, honoured 504 female graduates in the presence of the Minister of Education and Higher Education, H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, and QU President Dr. Hassan Al Derham.

Managing Director PHCC Dr. Mariam Ali Abdul Malik was the guest of honour at the QU Health graduation ceremony, which included 170 female graduates from the College of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy and College of Medicine.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai attended the third graduation ceremony, which included 291 graduates from the College of Engineering, 317 graduates from the College of Law, and 105 graduates from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies.
In the presence of Dr. Al Derham, and the two guests of honour: Dr. Sheikha bint Jabor Al Thani and President of the University of Calgary in Qatar, Dr. Hala Al Essa, QU graduated 1,042 female students from the College of Arts and Sciences.

The individual college ceremonies concluded with the graduation of 718 College of Business and Economics students, in the presence of guest of honour and Chairman of the Advisory Council at the College, Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani.
Earlier in the week, QU held separate graduation ceremonies for male graduates and distinguished female students, in the presence of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Consort of the Amir H H Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, respectively.
