Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) is preparing to hold a range of events to celebrate Family Day, a significant national occasion to honor the family as the cornerstone of society and the foundation of its stability and progress.
This occasion aims to highlight the importance of the family unit, strengthening its cohesion, and underscoring its role in social and economic development.
Director of the Family Development Department at MSDF Dhabia Al Maqbali said that this event serves as an important community platform to shed light on the status of the family unit and its multiple roles.
She added that celebrating Family Day in Qatar is an annual opportunity to enhance family cohesion, raise awareness about the challenges facing the modern family, and empower it to fulfill its developmental and social functions.
Al Maqbali said that the wide range of events prepared for the occasion aims to reach all members of the family in a way that combines enjoyment and benefit, reflecting the Ministry's commitment to a comprehensive vision of strengthening family stability in Qatari society.
With the participation of government and community institutions, various events will be organized for Family Day, including awareness lectures, workshops, and cultural and recreational activities.
In conjunction with Family Day and in cooperation with the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara, several events will be held at Katara's Wisdom Square starting at 17:00, on Tuesday, and running until April 19.
A number of national institutions will also participate through interactive booths and awareness and educational activities, along with businesses and local hotels offering exclusive discounts and promotions for the occasion, supporting community initiatives and enhancing the experience of visitors, thereby adding a celebratory atmosphere to the event.
For its part, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs said that it will partake in celebrating the occasion by dedicating the Friday sermon to discuss the importance of the family unit and its status in Islam, reinforcing the role of religious awareness in supporting family cohesion and promoting ethics, thus, meeting the objectives of Family Day.
In cooperation with the Doha International Family Institute, the Family Counseling Center "Wifaq" will host a discussion session on parenting and online safety at 09:00.
Moreover, human development trainer specializing in marital relationships, Yasser Al Huzaimi will give a lecture at Katara's Amphitheater at 18:00 on love and mercy between husband and wife.
MSDF invites all members of society to participate in these events and benefit from the programs and activities offered.
