Doha, Qatar: The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt HE Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held an official session of talks at the Amiri Diwan today.
At the beginning of the session, His Highness the Amir welcomed the President and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay. His Highness stressed the strong fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, expressing his hope that this visit will contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation and elevating it to broader horizons that achieve the aspirations and interests of the two peoples. The Amir wished the relations between the two countries further development and growth.
For his part, the Egyptian President expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, noting the solid fraternal relations that unite the two countries and their brotherly peoples, stressing his keenness to enhance all aspects of joint cooperation in various fields.
During the talks, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields. They also discussed the most prominent regional and international issues and developments of common interest, particularly the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, and the two countries' joint efforts to end the war on the Gaza Strip and deliver relief aid to the residents of the Strip.
The session was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, and a number of senior officials.
On the Egyptian side, it was attended by Chief of the President's Office HE Major General Ahmed Mohammed Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs HE Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade HE Eng. Hassan El Khatib, along with other senior officials accompanying HE the President.
The Amir and the Egyptian President held a bilateral meeting during which they reviewed regional and international developments and joint efforts to promote peace and stability.
His Highness the Amir hosted a luncheon in honor of the Egyptian President, and his accompanying delegation.
The Egyptian President had earlier arrived at the Amiri Diwan, where an official reception ceremony was held for him.
