The top athletes from GCC region who were honoured by Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) during the 14th GCC Athletics meet in Doha, pose for a picture along with QAF President Dahlan Al Hamad and other QAF officials on Thursday. Among those honoured by QAF were Roqaya Al Gassra, Bahrain’s top female sprinter, and Mohamed Salman Al Khuwalidi, the long jumper from Saudi Arabia. Qatar’s Talal Mansour and Mutaz Barshim, the London 2012 Olympic Games bronze winner in high jump, were also honoured. Prince Nawaf bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Saud, President, Saudi Arabia Amateur Athletics Federation, and former QAF chief Abdullah Al Zaini were also honoured with medallions.
