Indian artists to perform in Doha for Ragolsavam

Doha: A cultural association in Doha is bringing in a popular violinist, playback singer, a Kuchipudi artist and a mimicry artist to town this weekend. 

As part of their annual cultural show, Kerala Social and Cultural Association are hosting violinist Roopa Revathi, playback singer Najim Arshad, Kuchipudi dancer Prateeksha Kashi, and Kalabhavan Dilip on January 17. 

Ragolsavam, to be held in Dana Club in Dafna, will begin at 6pm. 

Roopa Revathi is a gifted musician who is among the few women fusion violin players in Kerala and has a tremendous following among music lovers. She has been sharing stages with renowned musicians of the Southern film industry. 

Najim Arshad is an Indian playback singer and music director who shot to fame after winning a reality show on Malayalam tv channel in 2007. Najim debuted as a playback singer in the same year winning accolades for his songs in Diamond Necklace, Casanovva, etc.  

Another renowned artist and a Kuchipudi dancer Prateeksha Kashi belongs to an artistic family and has been performing since the age of five. She has been dancing at various prestigious Indian dance festival and also conducts workshops across the world. To inspire youngsters and to create awareness about the art form, she is also coaching aspiring dancers in Bengaluru, India. 

An upcoming mimicry artist, Kalabhavan Dilip has been performing shows across the Middle East and Europe.   

Tickets for Ragolsavam are priced at QR 50 and QR 100 for individuals; meanwhile, a gold pass that permits a family of four can be bought for QR200. Tickets can be bought from ICC, Auto Care (Midmac R/A), Indian Coffee House and Thrissur Arts Center.
