Sudanese School-Qatar has plans to expand by constructing new buildings at its campus to accommodate more students in a bid to meet the growing demand of seats.
“The new project is expected to see the light of the day within two years,” Farooq Mohamad Ali (Pictured), Director General of Sudanese School told The Peninsula
He said that Sudanese School has also plans to upgrade the curriculum and to add new streams of education like English, technical and Islamic in a bid to provide more options to the students.
“Sudanese School for boys and girls, operating with 1,837 students in Abu Hamour, is a community school,” said Ali.
He said that the school plans to add kindergarten next year. “The school has planned to expand vertically and horizontally in coming years as there are free space to construct new buildings to accommodate more students,” said Ali.
He said that the school campus is spread over in an area of 25,000 sqm and only about 40 percent is occupied by building while remaining space is vacant. “So far school buildings are comprising of three blocks and the proposed fourth block can add 22 classes. We have additional space which was earmarked for gymnasium and about 14 classes can be built there,” he added.
He said that with new expansion project, primary, predatory and secondary grades will run in separate facilities at the campus of the school.
“The school is following Sudanese national curriculum run by the Ministry of Education of Sudan. The academic year begins from April 1 and runs till July 1. By the end of February examination begins to end the academic year.”
He said that the education system of Sudanese school is modernised. The complete curriculum was transferred into e-book in electronic gadgets like I-Pads and tablates. The teachers are trained to deal with new system.
“The school also plans to open evening classes from April 2019 for adult students,” said Ali.
He said that the national curriculum of Sudan is accredited internationally the students of Sudanese school in Qatar can get admission in the international universities worldwide to pursue their higher education.
The graduates of Sudanese school are studying in the universities of Japan, China, Malaysia, Turkey, Egypt, and Lebanon.
The school was established 1998 with basic education and added 1999 secondary school for boys and girls in 2016 the school was shifted to new building in Abu Hamour.
