Doha, Qatar: Qatar Tourism has recommended three heart-pounding activities designed for adrenaline enthusiasts: an invigorating ice bath at West Bay Beach, the thrill of indoor skydiving at Skydive Qatar, and the experience of paratriking by Sky Masters.
“Qatar’s got the ultimate recipe for adrenaline junkies,” it said on its Instagram account.
West Bay Beach, known for its array of activities, boasts an adrenaline-pumping ice bath, where participants immerse themselves in icy waters for a short duration. Priced at QR160, this chilly escapade is just one of many offerings, including jet skis, banana boats, beach volleyball courts, and more.
For those seeking an adrenaline rush indoors, Qatar Tourism recommends indoor skydiving at Skydive Qatar’s state-of-the-art wind tunnel in Lekhwiya, Doha. This family-friendly activity caters to all ages, allowing guests to experience the thrill of flight in a safe and controlled environment. The packages range from QR199 to QR899, making it an accessible adventure for enthusiasts.
“If you’ve ever dreamed of flying, but aren’t keen on jumping from an airplane, then wind tunnel skydiving is for you! Experience the thrill of flight in the safety and comfort of our 18’ diameter and 53’ tall wind tunnel.
Our extra large wind tunnel is the gold standard for indoor skydiving providing both elite skydiving teams and first-time flyers the space they need to practice their flying skills!,” Skydive Qatar said.
If exploring Qatar's skies is on the agenda, Paratriking by Sky Masters Sports Club is the answer. Located at Sealine Beach Road, about 60 kilometre from Doha, this activity offers breathtaking aerial views of the Sealine.
In an earlier interview with The Peninsula, Hessa Albinali, Qatar's first paramotor pilot said the journey takes participants above Sealine Beach, offering glimpses of dunes meeting the sea, and the possibility of spotting flamingos and dolphins. Air tours are priced at QR600 for 10 minutes, QR1,000 for a 20-minute session, and QR1,400 for a 30-minute flight.
Sky Masters Sports Club, certified by the Association of Paragliding Pilots and Instructors, also provides training courses at approximately QR10,700 for two to three weeks.
Qatar Tourism has also recommended to try these experiences for stopover passengers.
