DOHA: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs received today a statement from the African diplomatic corps praising Doha's preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
This came when Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed Mohammad Hassan Abdullah Al Ansari received a delegation of African ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the State of Qatar, headed by Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the State HE Amr Kamal El Din El Sherbiny.
The Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, thanked the ambassadors of the African diplomatic corps for their support for Qatar in hosting the major global sporting event, and stressed that Qatar's preparations are proceeding according to the plans in place, with the competition set to launch on November 20.
The African diplomatic group praised the ongoing preparations to host the FIFA World, and expressed its admiration for the infrastructure projects and facilities in Qatar, which it described as excellent, and expressed its confidence in the ability of Qatar through the World Cup to make a qualitative contribution and a lasting legacy for all humanity.
