Qetaifan Projects announced yesterday the sales launch of the first phase of the Qetaifan Island North - a mixed use and residential plots at a competitive price. Qetaifan Island North is the QR11bn-Qetaifan Projects’ first project.

The announcement was made in the presence of Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Qetaifan Projects’ Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Katara Hospitality, board members and other senior officials.

Addressing the media, Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Managing Director of Qetaifan Projects and Vice Chairman of Katara Hospitality said: “We are fortunate to be working on one of the most honourable national projects which in turn aims to serve various sectors of the country such as tourism and real estate development, which will contribute effectively to Qatar National Vision 2030, especially as the country is witnessing a remarkable development in all sectors in the light of the 2022 World Cup preparations.”

“There is no doubt that the freehold law allowing ownership for non-Qataris on Qetaifan Island North will contribute to increasing opportunities for foreign investment in the real estate sector”, he added.

Qetaifan Projects has signed a number of agreements, including 17 memorandums of agreement with international tour operators aimed to activating tourism in the State of Qatar, in collaboration with Katara Hospitality, Qatar National Tourism Council, and Qatar Airways.

“We believe in the future of Qetaifan Island North, and we are working hard and sincerely to make the island a competitive touristic attraction with a new concept of living, where all the required amenities are at your fingertips, including a school and a medical center”, Sheikh Nasser said.

According to him, the future waterfront hub expects to receive around 15,000 daily visitors in addition to 15,000 residents. He added that the water park, which covers an area of about 129,000sqm, is considered to be one of the main attractions at the island.

Operated by Rixos Hotels for the first time in Qatar, around 6,500 daily visitors are expected at the water park, which will also feature 21 different exciting rides, including the 80-metre Icon Tower, said to be the world’s highest tower of its kind, the region’s first 26-metre-tall rotating water slide, and others.

Al Khaliji Commercial Bank, which is the official partner of the project, will provide a wide range of banking services to clients wishing to invest in the island.
