Doha: Qatar Forum for Authors held on Wednesday a session on the role of the elderly in documenting heritage. The session was held in cooperation with the Center for Empowerment and Elderly Care (Ehsan).

The session was moderated by Hessa Al Suwaidi and witnessed participation from researchers Khalifa Al Sayed Al Maliki and Mohamed Nasser Al Sayegh.

It discussed means to preserve and enhance cultural heritage and the role of literary works in documenting the past, present and exploring the future.

In an exclusive statement to QNA, Al Maliki said that those interested in heritage and culture benefit from attending sessions like this one. He highlighted that while the new generation has largely integrated into the modern world, it continues to benefit mainly from the education and knowledge of their ancestors, as well as the cultural and literary events taking place around them.
