Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that Al Shahama Street between Bani Hajer Roundabout and Al Afaf Street will be closed for a stretch of  about 210 metres and traffic will be diverted to Al Ghawth Street Junction after the existing diversion on Bani Hajer Roundabout.
The closure from tomorrow morning lasts two-and-a-half-years.
Motorists on Al Luqta Street from Doha to Dukhan can skip Bani Hajer Roundabout and continue until Al Ghawth Street and turn right to get to the internal local areas of Bani Hajer.
The closure aims to facilitate construction of Dukhan Highway East project. Ashghal will install signs to advise motorists of the diversion. It urged road users to abide by speed limits and follow signs to ensure their safety.
