Many Twitter users have lauded Qataris for standing by the country during the siege and their sensible display of solidarity.
Qataris' reaction to the blockade is outstanding and impressive, and helps them thwart the blockade and gain everyone’s support, say Twitter users.
“We have trust in our government, and in a crisis we should stand with our government and this what we have done. We don’t look into the allegations which brotherly countries have made without any evidence,” said a citizen in a tweet.
“Qataris are nice, even with countries which imposed blockade on them. It shows that they are well educated and wise,” said Twitterati Oumair.
Some tweets have also praised Qatari media for maintaining ethics.
“They (Qataris) show respect to others and their media does professional reporting by upholding norms. Unlike the media of siege countries, which create rumours and fabricate news against Qatar and its people. Qatari media has set a sample in following ethics,” said a twitterati.
“I am proud of every Qatari who stood against this siege,” said another tweet.
Adnan, in a tweet, said, “I am not a Qatari, but I highly respect the Qatari media for its ethical reporting.”
Another twitterati praised Qatar saying, “Qatar became a school of ethics and example for others. The country makes decisions after proper analysis. Unlike others who make decisions overnight.”
Also, Qatari Twitter users continued to express their solidarity with the country and its leadership.
“The decision of our government is very clear. It said that if there are any evidences to support the allegations let them provide it. But if their intension is to make us surrender our sovereignty we will not do it,” said a Qatari Twitterati.
Satire in tweets
A Twitter campaign launched by some twitteratis from the siege countries was a subject of satire, with the latest one saying ‘Qatar hypnotises its people.”
“We went from being witches and wizards to being hypnotised,” tweeted a citizen in response.
The tweet ‘Qatar hypnotizes its people’ was tweeted by UAE citizen Dr Saif Dhaheri. It says, “Wake up from hypnosis, every day comes will be worse than the first. The wise must address the issue.”
