The championship which will begin today will end on February 20. Doha: The Qatar Open Shotgun championship will kick off today with the official skeet training for men and women at Losail Shooting Complex.
Around 300 shooters from 28 countries are taking part in the championship which includes 13 Olympic games medal winners.
Salu Makela Nummela of Finland, gold medallist at the 2012 London Olympic Games in the Trap women’s 75 targets category heads the list. Another former Olympic champion Jessica Rossi of Italy, winner of the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in the same category is also here.
The other top shooters who will be in action in the championship which will end on February 20 are Hakan Dahlby of Sweden, Vasily Mosin of Russia, Danka Bartekova of Slovakia, Vitaly Fokeev of Russia, Daniele Di Spigno of Italy, Albano Pera of Italy, Tore Brovold of Norway, Anthony Terras of France, Massimo Fabbrizi of Italy and Giovanni Pellielo of Italy.
Qatar’s challenge at the championship will be lead by Nasser Al Attiyah, bronze medallist at the 2012 London Games in Trap event. Nasser is part of the 55-member Qatar squad taking part in the event. The Peninsula
