DOHA: Apart from personal social media accounts to interact with family, friends and community members, the Tunisian community extensively engage on an official page of their representative council from where they also get updated information regarding community activities, developments happening in Qatar and in Tunisia.   

A Facebook page administered by the Council of Tunisian Community in Qatar has over 36,000 followers with active engagement. It carries posts showing community’s social, cultural, sports activities. It also keeps the community well-informed on various developments happening in Tunisia.

The page also shares a lot of videos about the community’s activities such as culture, sports and economic events. The page also invites some important personalities as guests to talk about the community issues, such as it hosted the director of Tunisian School recently to talk about the school registration and other related subjects.

Also it invites the guests who came to participate in some cultural activities. “It is a platform for exchanging information and sharing views and discussions on all issues concerning the community, Qatar and Tunisia,” Rachid commented on the page.

“Thanks to the Council of Tunisian Community in Qatar for this digital platform which makes us feel as if we are still living in our country through sharing all information which is related to our community. Our families can also watch and interact on shared information and follow some important events organized by the community here,” said another Tunisian expatriate.

The importance of this Facebook page is not limited to just acquiring important news but it is also find a way how to help their community members who are in any kind of distress due to any reason.
