International Elders day was celebrated at Bhavan’s Public School recently. Saleem Ponnambath, Honorary School President, BhPS, in the inaugural address emphasised on the need to inculcate the habit of giving respect and love to their grandparents and elders and also developing the feeling of empathy among the students. Principal Dr G Manulal highlighted on the importance of the day and stressed that the gap between the young and the old generation to be bridged.
Meghna of grade seven and Seenu Philip of geade six spoke on the day’s theme. Cultural programmes and games were conducted for the grandparents who assembled at the venue in large numbers. Winners were awarded prizes.
AbdulKader, vice-chairman, Manikantan, Vice-President, Nazar Kattilan, Director, Jayashree G Academic co-ordinator, were also present. Helmin Jose of class five proposed a vote of thanks.
