Qatar-based cloud services provider Azym Technologies is on a mission to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the GCC region. The company has developed enterprise-level cloud technology solutions, which are specifically designed for Gulf SMEs to transform the way they do their business, an official has said.
In an interview with The Peninsula, Azym Technologies’ new Chief Operating Officer Trevor Caddy, said the company is currently in the process of launching its breakthrough cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, which is arguably the first of its kind in the region.
“All businesses now are dependent on technology. And there are around three to four million SMEs across the region and about a quarter of a million of large enterprise organisations. We are now seeing an increasing awareness on the digital transformation of businesses here, and many of them are wanting to move away from on-premise solutions. And while larger organisations have mapped their processes by buying their technology from global vendors, small businesses who also want the same technology may not afford it. We understand what the Gulf SME sector needs, that’s why we offer tailor-made business and technology transformation solutions that will grow their businesses,” said Caddy.
To date, Azym Technologies serves over 6,000 SMEs in the region, and employs about 800 staffs from 22 different nationalities. Caddy, who has recently joined the team, brings with him a wealth of experience from his 25 years in multiple industry sectors throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The international business leader has held several leadership and management positions with some of the world leaders in IT, including FileNET Corporation, Business Objects, HP, Atos Origin, ADVENT Asset Management, and the Doha-based Malomatia.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has made a lot of difference, particularly in cloud hosting and software as a service (SaaS) sectors. We’re getting week-on-week growth. And we’re currently focused on SMEs in the GCC. Our CEO and his technical team are constantly reviewing the market requirements every quarter. So we develop and manage our own technology based on what the customer needs,” Caddy added.
Speaking about the company’s mega cloud-based ERP software which is expected to be launched this year or early next year, Founder and CEO of Azym Technnologies, Shafeek Kabeer, said: “The idea of Azym, is always to come up with enterprise-level vision in terms of state-of-the-art technology for the good of the SME sector. For the past five years, we have been developing the legendary ERP system purely designed for the SME sector in the GCC. This cloud platform could enable almost 99 percent automation of the SMEs, and will put their business in autopilot. We’re making this technology, which was previously only accessible to large organisations with huge IT budget, now accessible to the SMEs as well. This is an ecosystem which pretty much covers everything, from inventory, finance, sales, e-commerce, payroll, and others”.
Kabeer said the new ERP solution will also help SMEs in forecasting their business growth, which will serve particularly useful for businesses recovering from the impact of the pandemic.
