DOHA: Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) facilities was hailed by an Australian swimming official, after the the Georgina Hope Swimmers Foundation Australian Junior team emerged victorious at the recent FINA Junior World Swimming Championships in Dubai, following four days of intensive training at Aspire Zone.
The team excelled at the international tournament, beating off stiff competition from the Russian and American teams to top the gold medal count, taking home an impressive 18 medals overall.
Michael Scott, Swimming Australia’s High Performance Manager, praised the role played by AZF in the lead up to the Championships.
Scott said: “Aspire was able to provide the high standard of facilities we required for our team to train in a professional environment.”
He added: “Staying in such close proximity to the world-class facilities was extremely beneficial for our preparation ahead of Dubai. It allowed the management to easily adjust training times when necessary while giving the swimmers maximum recovery time during the day.”
