Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary General Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani (centre) is seen with officials during the National Sport Day (NSD) honouring ceremony. NSD takes place on the second Tuesday of every February and is an initiative which aims to create awareness about sports and its health benefits. The initiative made Qatar the first country in the world to allocate a special day for sport. Sheikh Saoud thanked employees and volunteers for the effort in making the 2013 NSD a success. Sheikh Saoud also announced a sports tourist festival in co-ordination with Qatar Tourism Authority, which will take place at next year’s NSD on February 11.
