Over 80000 use Doha Metro in two days

Doha: Qatar Rail witnessed a huge rush during the first two days since its launch on Wednesday. 

The railway company announced on its social media account that during the two days it recorded 86,487 people used the Doha Metro. 

In its tweet, the company said, "We are pleased with the high ridership Doha Metro witnessed during the first two days of its launch, which affirms the instrumental role Doha Metro will play in transforming public transport sector" along with a graph showing the numbers.

According to the graph, on the first day, 37,451 riders went on the metro; while 49,036 used the service on Thursday. 

The preview service for the first part of the Doha Metro’s Red Line began from Al Qassar in the north to Al Wakrah in the south. With a train every six minutes, the train operates from 8 am to 11 pm on a weekday. The service will be stopped on weekends to continue with the work required to open more stations and lines.
