Doha: Unsettled weather conditions expected to continue affecting the country during weekend. Qatar Meteorology Department tweeted that due to extension of a low-pressure system there is a chance of scattered rain, thundery at times, reaching peak during the period between Friday evening (April 12) until Saturday evening.
The MET said that conditions will be favourable for moderate to heavy rain in most areas of the country accompanied with sudden strong wind gusts exceeding 40kt at times and causing rising dust and low visibility in some areas.
Weather condition is expected to stabilise gradually by Sunday morning.
The department urged all to take extra care especially during thunderstorms which may be accompanied with hail in some areas. They also warned residents to avoid going to sea as well as to follow latest updates through its official social media accounts.
