The Italian Trade Agency-Trade Promotion Office of the Italian Embassy is participating in the 9th edition of ‘Qatar International Agricultural and Environmental Exhibition (AgriteQ) being held at the DECC. The Italian pavilion at the AgriteQ & EnviroteQ Qatar 2022 is covering an area of 120 sqm, hosting a selection of five companies from FederUnacoma, the Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Federation representing enterprises in the field of implements, self-propelled machines, tractors, components and gardening machinery.
“In this fast-growing environment we feel that the Italian cutting-edge technologies in the field of agriculture can play an important role in the expansion of this business in Qatar” stated the Italian Trade Commissioner Augusta Smargiassi emphasising how Qatar and Italy have over the years established an enviable business relationship.
“With our participation to AgriteQ & EnviroteQ we wanted to provide to all visitors a compact but high-quality selection of companies that can play a fundamental role in the outstanding development process of Qatar agriculture” said Ambassador of Italy to Qatar H E Alessandro Prunas. “I am sure that the fair will be another successful opportunity to further tighten the relations between our countries in the field of agriculture, with an eye to sustainability and innovation.”
According to the last available data collected by Qatari Customs, the trade volume of agricultural and horticultural mechanical appliances between Qatar and Italy in 2021 increased by 28.7 percent compared to 2020, placing Italy in the third place among Qatar’s supplying countries. As per the floriculture products and live plants, the imports from Italy raised of approximately 23 percent compared to 2020.
The agricultural industry in Qatar is growing speedily, as confirmed by the total increase in imports of agricultural equipments and live plants. In this dynamic context, the Trade Promotion Office has decided to present at ‘AgriteQ & EnviroteQ’ some of the Italian excellences in the field, in order to enhance Italy’s contribution to the expansion of Qatari agriculture.
All the exhibitors offer state-of the art solutions in the field of agricultural machinery, starting from Ageon, specialised in technological greenhouse and soilless crop consulting and Cermac, Consortium of Italian manufacturers of machinery, equipment, technologies and accessories for agriculture. The list also includes Nardi Group, leading company in agricultural machinery and equipment production, and T.R.Turoni, specialised in production and supply of agri-measurement instruments. The last entrance of the pavilion is Trelleborg Wheels System Italia, whose production focuses on wheels, rims and tires for agriculture and machinery.
The pavilion offers a wide range of opportunities to explore the Italian technology, knowledge and experience in the agricultural sector. In addition, ITA Doha is also looking forward to strengthening the cooperation by inviting local trade operators to attend the main exhibitions and events in Italy in this sector such as My Plant & Garden (Milan, February 23-25), which took place recently and the upcoming Cibus (Parma, May 3-6) and Macfrut (Rimini, May 4-6).
