NEW YORK: Centres Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Duchene scored 21 seconds apart, and goaltender Semyon Varlamov stopped 37 shots as Colorado beat Dallas 4-3.
Defenceman Erik Johnson and center John Mitchell also scored for the Avalanche, who have won five of six. Colorado is 9-3-2 since a four-game losing streak in early December. The Avalanche moved past Dallas into fifth place in the Central Division.
Right wingers Alex Hemsky and Brett Ritchie scored and center Colton Sceviour also had a goal for the Stars, who have lost four straight. Goaltender Kari Lehtonen stopped 26 shots.
Penguins 2, Canadiens 1 (OT)
Centre Sidney Crosby scored on the power play in overtime to give Pittsburgh a 2-1 win over Montreal at the Bell Centre.
Goaltender Carey Price stopped 34 shots for Montreal and netminder Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves for Pittsburgh.
Predators 3, Wild 1
Centres Calle Jarnkrok and Colin Wilson scored in the third period as Nashville won for the fifth time in the last six games, topping Minnesota.
Jarnkrok scored off the rebound of a shot by center Olli Jokinen to break a 1-1 tie and Wilson added an insurance goal after a Minnesota turnover. Center Mike Fisher also scored for the Predators.
Bruins 3, Flyers 1
Right winger David Pastrnak scored the first two goals of his career, goaltender Tuukka Rask made 24 saves and Boston beat Philadelphia. Centre Chris Kelly also scored a goal to help the Bruins extend their points streak to seven games.

Left winger Mike Hoffman scored his 14th goal and left winger Clarke MacArthur had a goal and an assist as Ottawa broke a three-game losing streak with a victory over Arizona at Gila River Arena.
Left winger Milan Michalek, defenceman Cody Ceci, left winger Mikkel Boedker and David Legwand scored for Ottawa. Craig Anderson made 31 saves.
Islanders 5, Blue Jackets 2
Left winger Nikolai Kulemin scored just 31 seconds into the game, and the New York Islanders added three second-period goals to pull away from Columbus.
Left winger Matt Martin, center Anders Lee and defenseman Brian Strait also scored for the Islanders, while defenseman Thomas Hickey and center Ryan Strome each had two assists.
