The Ideal Indian School (IIS) with an enrolment of around 5,000 students from over 35 nationalities is looking for suitable land to build its new branch.
“IIS has also planned to build a big auditorium and a swimming pool at the school premises,” Principal of IIS, Syed Shoukath Ali, told The Peninsula.
Ideal Indian School celebrated its 35th Annual Day amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation showcasing the magnificent cultural performance by the students of kindergarten, junior, girls and boys sections of the school at the premises of the school on Thursday. Addressing the event, Rawda Safwan Al Zaidan, Director of Private School Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, announced issuing of certificates of appreciations from the Ministry for the toppers of the school. “We are proud of the students, parents and management of IIS for their great achievements,” said Al Zaidan.
Dr Satbir Bedi IAS, Chairperson, National Council for Teacher Education, Government of India graced the occasion as chief guest. In her keynote address, Dr Satbir Bedi IAS congratulated and complimented IIS for bringing the values the joint culture. “CBSE has the vision to improve and globalise teacher training to impart education to prepare students, global citizens,” she said.
Mohammed Salim Mohamed, Acting Managing Editor of The Peninsula lauded the efforts put in by the students, staff and the management in maintaining a high standard of education. “Do you know what is the biggest impediment in school life. It is laziness. If you become active you will be able to achieve success,” said Mohammed Salim.
President Dr Hassan Kunhi M.P said that IIS is in the forefront to provide a high standard of education for the students. Principal Syed Shoukath Ali said that recently entire classes were equipped with LED panel boards to help the students learn fast and high class technological advanced contents, I-learning was provided free of cost. “We also developed mentor system for our students by forming a group of students,” said Shoukath Ali. Mentorship is a relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person.
The Principal presented the annual report of the school. He said that the school has set standards and goals in the area of academics, sports, events, discipline, leadership, management systems and more.
The Annual Day at Ideal Indian School is also an occasion to honour the students for their outstanding performance in CBSE examinations every year. Gold and silver medals were awarded to the school rank holders and individual subject toppers in the classes 10 and 12 examinations held in March 2019.
The school staff completing their 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of dedicated services to the school were also felicitated on the occasion. A large number of students and parents turned out to witness the evening. The day featured a spectacular cultural extravaganza titled ‘Santunes’ depicting the years of friendship between Indian and Qatar.
About 2,000 students from all four sections mesmerised the audience by their enthralling stage show. The cultural fiesta comprised of a variety of programmes including dances- Indian classical, Qatari folk, International, western, fusion, contemporary dances, songs, musical and scintillating multi-lingual dramas. A large number of people including parents, members of the PTA and Alumni Association attended the function.
