No changes in traffic violation rules: Traffic Department

Traffic Department at Ministry of Interior has reiterated that there are no changes in traffic fines or traffic violation rules. 

The department came out with this statement after many people sought clarification about some fake posts were doing the rounds on social media. 

The traffic department, through their official Twitter account, said that the news was incorrect and asked all residents in Qatar to follow only official sources for such announcements.

The tweet: Regarding what is being circulated about the amendment of traffic violation rules and the inclusion of new legal articles is incorrect, and we urge everyone to get news from traffic department’s official accounts in social media.

Some users on twitter published a video from social media showing a person explaining fake amendments without any references. Citizens and residents urged the department to take appropriate actions against those who are spreading such fake news and creating panic among people.

In recent times there were many fake news against Qatar on Facebook and many readers had forwarded screenshots to The Peninsula. The user have to be very careful on what they are clicking and always try to follow official sources and reputable news sources.
