DOHA: The first ever Dolphin Energy Doha Dash running event organisers have promised an unforgettable day for the family tomorrow at Losail International Circuit.
The event, which is the first of its kind to be held at the motor racing track, will welcome Qatar residents to the Circuit to celebrate National Sport Day.
The event will feature four categories; 5km and 3km races, plus a 1km Mini Doha Dash for children and a 1km ladies’ walk.
The Circuit, located on the North Relief Road (road to Al Khor), will be open from 7.30am when runners can collect their rack-packs including bib-number, exclusive Dolphin Energy Doha Dash t-shirt and goodie-bag of gifts from event sponsors.
The first race will start at 9.15am when runners in the 3km race will set off around the motor track.
Beforehand, and throughout the day, participants and their families are invited to enjoy the festival atmosphere in the Race Village.
Dolphin Energy, title sponsor of the event, will have a range of exciting activities in their pit-lane garage including a special children’s WiiSport area, mobile phone charging exercise bikes, massage chairs and the chance to race against event ambassador Samuel Francis in a 20m ‘Shadow Runner’ sprint.
There will also be prize draws throughout the day.
Adel Ahmed Albuainain, General Manager, Dolphin Energy, Qatar said: “Following months of preparation we’re very happy that the day has arrived for the first ever Dolphin Energy Doha Dash.”
“We have received an excellent response for this event from Qatari nationals and expatriates, and we are confident that this will be one of the most exciting events taking place in the city for Qatar National Sport Day 2013. I would like to extend a personal invitation to spectators to join us in the Dolphin Energy pit-garages on the day and enjoy the fun,” he added in a statement.
